
Stop Fighting Your Ceiling Heaters
Most workshop heaters are “set it and forget it”—until they break. And when they do, it’s a nightmare. Usually, replacing one burnt-out tube means tearing apart the whole housing or messing around with the wiring while you’re balanced on a ladder. We got tired of that. So we built something different.
Making it Easy to Fix
We figured the heating element should be treated like a lightbulb: something you just swap out when it dies. Instead of hard-wiring every single lamp, we separated the power block from the tubes. We used plug-and-play connectors. If a tube gives up the ghost five years from now, you don’t have to buy a whole new system. You just pull the dead one out and pop a new one in. It turns a few hours of frustration into a couple of minutes of work. Plus, you don’t have to kill the power to the entire shop just to fix one spot.
Beating the Heat
Infrared tubes take a beating. They expand, they contract, and they get incredibly hot. Over time, that heat makes wiring insulation brittle and ruins seals. To fix this, we used a modular chassis that keeps the electrical terminals away from the “hot zone.” It keeps the wires happy and lasting longer. Now, full disclosure: modular connectors can sometimes have a bit more resistance than a direct solder. We handled that by using oversized copper terminals. You won’t notice a voltage drop, but you will notice that the system doesn’t fail nearly as often.
The “I Can Do This” Workflow
When a tube goes dark, you don’t need a specialized electrical crew. It’s simple:
- Flip the switch for that zone.
- Pop the quick-lock clips.
- Unplug the old element.
- Slide in the new one. No heavy tools on the lift. No swearing at the wiring. Just a quick part swap and you’re back to work.
