We built this heater around a 2500W halogen shortwave lamp, mounted on a 300mm quartz tube. It’s for the machines that need intense, pinpoint heat—without taking up a ton of room.
The power behind the heat
It runs on 400V and pulls 2500W because that’s how you get high heat density without overloading the connectors and wiring. And the 300mm tube? It focuses the radiant heat into a tight zone, so you can aim it exactly where you need it. This isn’t a gentle background warmth. It’s direct heat—instant response. But that also means the enclosure and cooling need to be set up to handle the heat.
What it’s made of—and why it matters
The tube is quartz, filled with halogen, and it works in shortwave infrared. That translates to fast heat transfer into parts that can’t soak up a lot of heat. A special coating helps cut the glare and keeps output steady. Meanwhile, the quartz itself can handle sudden temperature swings without cracking. Then there’s the R7s base—a compact, reliable bi-pin connector that holds the lamp firmly in place. It’s built to handle the voltage and the heat that come with running on a machine line.
